Our Class Building on Great Russell Street
Note Susquehanna, Chad and Alex's Alma Mater
After sitting around for about an hour waiting for our british professor for our History of London course, one of the girls in our class called our Colgate trip leader and discovered that we actually didn't have class until 11. Needless to say, we weren't pleased with the mix up as it resulted in a severe cut in our sleeping time. We did get to our class, which we are taking jointly with the Colgate History group, and met our new Professor, Katy Layton-Jones. She works as a professor at a local college in London. She was very energetic about our class and overall it seems like she will be a really great teacher.
Kindergarten-style First Day of Class Picture
Monday classes will typically be a lecture for our History of London class and then a play in the evening for our British Theatre course (a class for which we have lectures on wednesday). Today we had our first session of Tuesday classes, Museum Theory in the morning, a short lunch break, then The London Novel in the early afternoon, both taught by our trip leader Professor Coyle.
Tonight is Burns' night, when the Scottish celebrate the life of their national poet, Robert Burns. This means there will be a lot of kilt wearing and whiskey drinking throughout the city... looking forward to it!
